Purposeful learning at home.

Many of us have found ourselves in a situation we never thought we would be in and certainly had not planned for. Students are out of school for a minimum of 2 weeks and parents may be concerned with what information and learning their child(ren) are missing out on.

No need to worry! I am amazed at how people are rallying to support each other, especially the children who have been pulled out of school, daycare, after school activities and many other recreational sports. Everyone from educators, librarians, authors, illustrators, yoga instructors, zoos, museums, to grocery stores, restaurants, local and national businesses, and school custodians have come together to think outside the box to make sure our children are safe, fed, and learning while away from school.

Please check out the links you see in the sidebars of this page, as well as, the tabs above, for some awesome resources to help your child be engaged in their learning while away from school. But do not forget, learning something new does not have to be from an educational resource. There are some experiences your child can get at home that they can not get at school or from an online resource. Don’t forget to have conversations with your child, get outside and explore, set some goals together and work on them together, bake something from scratch, and plays games together.

Take care of yourself and your family!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Murray
